Street to Cath Lab
Description:
Acquisition of a 12-lead ECG is a critical step in the evaluation of patients with suspected acute coronary syndrome. Early diagnosis of an acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction can significantly reduce patient morbidity and mortality. In this case based session, we examine several real life examples of the positive impact of early activation of the cardiac cath lab on patient care.
Objectives:
- Understand the rationale and evidence for early acquisition of field 12-lead ECGs
- Demonstrate the impact of early notification on patient outcome
- Understand impact of identification of high risk patients through early EMS 12-lead
